34 Weeks and A Cat

Tomorrow marks 34 weeks. I go in for my doctor appointment and hopefully will be told more about when we will be able to meet this new baby.
Excited to go but also wanting it to be ovr with and want to meet this baby aleady.
Today, Joseph cleaned our entire apartment. Vaccum, mopped the floor by hand, cleaned the bathroom floor and everything. He also did some rearraning of the furniture.
Our apartment has 3 rooms. Not 3 bedrooms, but 3 rooms not including the bathroom. We have the kitchen/dining, bedroom, and living room (bedroom 2).

Since our apartment is not large by American or even European standards we wanted one of the bedrooms to be our official living room. We feel we have successfully succeeded in that endeavor until today.  Joseph needed to move our dresser out of the bedroom and put it in the living room to make room for the crib. Not a huge sacrifice but a necessary one. It looks lovely!
We have 2 wardrobes in our bedroom plus the bed, nightstand, clothes rack, laundry basket, and crib. We have done our best to make the entire apartment as homey as possible.
As far as baby space for clothes and all of the bits and things for baby we have that deligated to one bookshelf. Just one. Not even as tall as I am. So far it works well.
Currently we are uber organized with things and although we know that won't last long after the baby arrives, right now it helps me stay sane.
We need to thank our family and friends for being so wonderful and amazing. We have clothes enough--for a girl--to last well into the first full year.
We cannot imagine how this baby will wear so many clothes but something tells us we will manage.  We were sent 2 large boxes of clothes from some of our favorite people and it was simply perfect. Their own girls' clothes from when they were little and fabulous garage sale finds with the tags still on half of the new clothing.  It doesn't get much better!
We sincerely thank them for their kindness and love.
On this end we have finally purchased some diapers at Costco. 35usd for a box of Kirkland and 35usd for a box of Huggies. We will see which ones work best with baby and go from there. The same company makes both and both reviews online go either way. Along with a HUGE box of wipes we are set for the first...2 weeks? Ha!
The baby shower is coming up this Saturday and I am so excited. It would be best if our loved ones in America could be here but they will be here in spirit. Tiffany has worked so hard on this party and it will be perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better person to tackle something that needed so much modification and crafty handiwork.
Being in America, putting together a baby shower is quite fun, relaxing, and easy compared to doing it up to par in Korea.  There are no party stores here and none of the typical decorations that are normally used. Etsy and Pinterest quickly became our goto sites for things and being able to purchase a downloadable file to print here became the norm.  Also becomming the norm was to find the same thing on Pinterest and then create it here. Shipping things here is outrageously priced and not worth it for party supplies.  It was either make it or not have it. Tiffany is so crafty and so detail oriented when it comes to crafts and similar things. We have very similar taste but completly different craft skills.
We are very much looking forward to the baby shower.
Our cat. Captain Eddie.  He is becoming a bit spastic lately.  Running around the house with his tail up and poofy making strange sounds. His pupils are dialated and he seems scared or worried sometimes. We are giving him a lot of love and have been telling him and showing him baby things. He has enjoyed laying on all of the clean baby clothes. Go figure. He has hissed at me a few times and even bitten my hand a couple of times as well so he knows something is happening. We did some light research and are following, as much as we can, the advice given. Show a lot of love, have play time, etc. Hopefully he will be okay.
Today, he was a little mopey when I was putting larger sized baby clothes in bags until we need them. He scrunched up in the corner of the couch and pouted.

  2. Elizabeth, everything looks wonderful! Get Grandma to tell you about the apartment Uncle Johnny and I had when Jeff was born...barely two rooms! Life was "interesting" but you always manage to get along!
