Last Post

This baby making adventure has been really eye opening.  We have enjoyed sharing our experience and adventures with everyone who reads this blog.

This blog has also doubled as our baby book.  We plan on printing it all out and keeping it for Jasper as a keep sake for later in his life.

Please know that although we will no longer post on this blog, I will gladly answer any questions anyone has about IVF or fertility concerns in Korea.

Please feel free to email me at elizabeth.jarocki@gmail.com for any questions or concerns you may have regarding Korea, IVF, fertility, etc.

Thank you for being a part of our adventures,

Mommy, Daddy, and Baby

Happy First Birthday, Jasper!

Jasper had TWO first birthday parties.  One in Korea and one in America.  Both were special and a really fun time.
The theme was Beatrix Potter/Peter Rabbit and Jasper is so lucky to have so many people who love him.

Jasper's American Experience

Jasper's first trip to America.  He had a great time plus his official first birthday!  He met so much family and enjoyed his time. He really liked the big space at home and the back yard with the grass.  I was more or less in the background as Jasper was the main attraction.  Everyone came to see him.  So much family and all of mom and dad's friends.  It was so special seeing everyone who loves him and great for him to meet everyone in person.

First Flight: International Flight

Jasper's first international flight and my first as a parent. Jasper did really well on the first 10 hour flight. It was his regular bed time so he slept for most of the flight. The last 2 hours or so he was awake and restless but he handled himself moderately well. No screaming fits.
The 2nd flight was 5 hours and he was fully awake 90% of the time.  He and I both fell asleep the first hour and missed lunch. After that he was entertained by the passengers and flight attendants. When that didn't work he walked up and down the aisle and tried chatting with everyone.

11 Months

Ha! We have been falling behind on photos and everything lately.

Jasper is now 11 months and the first year is almost over.

Jasper took his first step by himself on January 1st. He has been moving so quickly and keeping us on our toes.

This is the winter semester which means I do not have classes (because of my admin position) but I have meetings and other admin work to complete. I am lucky enough to do that at home or a few meetings out. If I have meetings out I just take him with me and Joseph comes to get him as soon as he gets home from work.  So happy to be able to have the option to keep him home.

Ear Infection

Jasper's first double ear infection.

Poor little man is a trouper. He pulls at his ears but he isnt crying or screaming for which we are thankful. He has been sleeping propped up on pillows for a few months so many that has helped overall.

We took him to the ENT and he diagnosed him as sinusitis/rhinitis with a double ear infection.

Hoping it mostly clears up before our flight. We dont want him to be more miserable.

Hmmm

We think it is time to get Jasper a Leapfrog set. He continues to play with and try to destroy our laptops. Can't have that. Maybe with his own Leapfrog unit he will leave our laptops alone. Ha!

Playtime in the Snow

It has been seriously windy and cold the past few weeks. Last night it was as low as 2°F.  With the wind chill it was about -5°F.
This morning we put Jasper's snowsuit on and took him to the roof to play in the snow. He floundered around like a seal but he seed not to mind too much. Cannot wait until next year when we can go to the winter snow festival up north!

Formula Be Gone

We are officially done with formula.

We began weaning Jasper off formula when he turned 11 months and it took just under 2 weeks to fully transition him.

Nice to be done with the formula!

First Birthday as a Daddy

Joseph turned 35 and his first bday as a daddy.
We had a family bday on Friday (Joseph's bday) and we had a friend day on Saturday.
Joseph,  Jasper, and I went to an Indian restaurant down the street from our apartment. It was delicious. We ate tandori chicken, yougurt/honey soup, naan and tomato/chicken sauce, and a salad. So yummy.

First Day of 2016

Jasper really knows how to begin a new year right: first steps!!!
Jasper has been walking with assistance for a couple of months but today, Jan 1st, he took his first on his own-no hands!
We could not get a photo or video yet. He is simply too quick but we will.
Horray!
