December to Remember

Via beta testing, I am no longer pregnant.  I was for a short time but due to the beta testing numbers, I no longer am.

beta test 1-->  91.1
test 2 --> 36
test 3 --> 51

From what we gather, any number above zero is a good beta number.  It doesn't matter the number as long as it doubles and continues to double every day or every other day for about the first 8 weeks of pregnancy.

Mine didn't.  I had what is called a chemical pregnancy which came to its conclusion December 5th.

It is okay.  I was upset for about a day and I gave myself the weekend to have a pity party with ice cream and movies but in reality, this happened for a reason.  Joseph was not upset as he said he wasn't going to get excited until the 12th week of pregnancy simply because these things happen often during the first 12 weeks.  Joseph was great.

Most chemical pregnancies happen due to abnormal growth to the embryo or cells.  It is no ones 'fault.'

We have made an appointment with the best fertility doctor in South Korea:  onetop.kr.  If you open this site in Google Chrome it should translate most of the site for you if you are looking for more information.

This is a private practice and the doctor is a specialist in fertility.

Our appointment is December 21st so we are hoping to know more after that.

We will complete IVF again but I would rather complete the egg removal surgery at a hospital that puts me to sleep for that portion.  Otherwise, Maria Fertility Hospital (Daejeon) is wonderful.

I am aware that people are wondering about money and how much all this is costing us.  Aren't we in Korea to save money?  Yes...We still are able to and we are still able to save for trips and travel as well.  In living in Korea, we are lucky.  This IVF procedure cost us a small fraction what it would in America.  For that, we are grateful we were able to complete the procedures here in a private hospital no less.

In another post, I will outline exactly how much this cost us and exactly what we got for our money.
Yes, we'll do this again at least one other time.
